Grindcore and Noise melt together so well, yet it’s still a small sub genre that deserves more attention in my opinion. And what about all those people that think that plain old Grindcore is noisy!
They will feel no delight in listening to the new Untitled EP by the Australian band TheDownGoing. That’s for sure!
I had a blast. Quite literally!.
Thedowngoing plays unsavory mincy grindcore layered with a thick coat of noise. This is loudness upon loudness!
Vocals + Guitar Mathias Huxley and drummer Muzz suffocate us with an overwhelming intensity that makes a fine blend of the abrasiveness of noise and Grindcore’s simple blasting power.
Mis-matched drum rhythms and guitar riffs makes Thedowgoing the mess it should be. The Bitch screams and industrial sounds that collide with deliberately frantic tempo switches makes this an approachable release for Grindcore and Noise lovers alike.
It’s noisy goodness if you ask me.
